Pricing (Oracles)

The accuracy of price data is crucial for both Mount Exchange and its traders. Currently, we utilize two types of prices depending on their purpose:

  1. Mark Price: This is the fundamental price used in perpetual trading. It determines the unrealized profit and loss (uPnL) and whether a position should be liquidated.

  2. K-line Chart Price: This price is displayed to show the price trend over time. It's primarily for visualization, allowing technical traders to make informed decisions using indicators like MACD. We offer these indicators through TradingView, a tool widely favored by traders.

Initially, we rely exclusively on the Pyth oracle for our price data.
